Skills for Emerging Managers and Leaders
Monica Brunaccini, Leadership Development Coach, Trainer, and Consultant
via telephone
Fee: $19.
Are you a new or aspiring manager? Are you a competent manager who'd like to become a great manager? Are you a manager who wants to become a leader? Would you like to better understand what individual sub-skills are required to manage/lead effectively? If you've answered "yes" to any of these questions, this 1-session teleclass is for you.
Monica will discuss what is generally expected of managers, what the fundamental duties are, and what the biggest challenges tend to be. She will examine the common attributes and core competencies of effective managers, and how organizations do and do not prepare individuals for management. Since many people move into management with little or no support or training, she will discuss what tools/assessments are available for managers to measure their talents and strengths, as well as trainings and materials that new and evolving managers can use to develop these talents and strengths.
Monica will also discuss the difference between managing and leading and look at how managers can effectively coach employees. Current and aspiring managers and leaders can expect to leave this session with a sharper understanding of their strengths and deficits as well as ideas for how to develop the skills they lack. This will be a supportive and non-judgmental class designed to give you traction and move you forward in practical ways.
